Located in the Gagra Range of Abkhazia, this underground abyss plunges an astounding 2,212 meters (7,257 feet) deep into the crust of the Earth.

🏢 Deeper Than 2.5 Burj Khalifas: If you stacked Dubai's Burj Khalifa (828 m)—the world's tallest building—inside this cave, you could fit MORE than two and a half of them inside!

🧗‍♂️ A 4-Day Descent: It takes professional speleologists over 4 full days of continuous climbing and rappelling through pitch-black vertical shafts just to reach the bottom!

🌑 An Alien Atmosphere: At the bottom, the temperature sits at a freezing 4°C with 100% humidity. Explorers say stepping into the lowest cavern feels like landing on another planet!

🏆 Record-Breaking Discovery: First discovered in 1968, it wasn't until 2018 that a team of Russian speleologists reached its lowest point, officially surpassing Krubera Cave (2,197 m) as the deepest on Earth.

The cave is located in a pass between the Krypost and Zont mountains in the Abkhazia region. Abkhazia is an independent state that is officially considered part of the country of Georgia.
