The world's coldest inhabited area is Omiya-kun

There is a village in Russia where the temperature drops to minus 71 degrees Celsius and the average temperature in January is minus 50 degrees Celsius.

The village is called Omeya Kon and in 1924 the temperature here dropped to minus 71.2 degrees Celsius.

It is the coldest inhabited region in the world and the people here have the honor of permanently living in the coldest region in the world.

But living in this area is not so easy, in areas like Murree and Quetta, business life stops at minus 6 or 7, while in Karachi, even in 10 or 12 degrees Celsius, people reduce leaving their homes.

So how do the people here live on such a cold land? To get the answer to the same question, Amos Chappell, a photographer from New Zealand, decided to visit this village and took some very interesting pictures during his trip.

 According to the report, photographer Amos Chappell said, "The first time I went outside in minus 47 degrees Celsius, I was wearing thin pants, I felt the cold clinging to my feet, several times between my lips." My saliva also froze which hurt my lips'.

The photographer said that due to the cold, the focus and zoom colors of his camera also froze.

Because of the snow on the ground, it is not possible to build toilets in the house, so they are built outside.

The livestock of the village is gathered and locked in one place at night so that they too can stay warm.

Cattle have to graze on snow-covered bushes instead of green grass.

It is the only shop in the village but it has all the necessities and all the villagers do their shopping from here.

Cars must be parked inside a heated garage. If a car is parked in the open, it becomes difficult to restart it. However, if parking outside is necessary, people avoid turning off the engine. .

It is so cold in this village that only snow is seen everywhere and people yearn to see green.

A small heating system has also been installed to provide heat to the villagers.

With no fear of fish spoiling due to extreme cold, people can keep them for months without refrigeration.

 Where the average temperature in January is minus 50 degrees Celsius and snow freezes in the eyelids as soon as it leaves the four walls.

In this village located in Siberia, Russia, it got so cold this year that even the electronic thermometer installed there died at minus 62 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Center recorded the temperature at minus 59 degrees Celsius, but locals say the temperature actually went as low as minus 67 degrees.

An electronic thermometer was installed last year to keep tourists aware of the temperature in this village called Umeya-kun, but it exploded at minus 62 degrees in the past few days.

According to a report in Siberian Times, the thermometer broke due to extreme cold.

In the 1920s, five hundred people, mainly shepherds, settled in this village and gave the village its name, which translates to 'the water that never freezes'.

By the way, the coldest place in the world is Antarctica, but there is no permanent human population there.

This is the reason why the people living in this place have been given the honor of living in the coldest place in the world.

Residents here keep their cars on all the time in cold weather because if they shut off, they won't be able to start again.

Burial in case of death here is very difficult because the snow is so hard that it is not easy to dig a pit.

For this purpose, a fire is first lit at the burial site and then the melted snow is set aside and a hole of a few inches is dug, repeating this process for several days until the hole is deep enough to bury someone.

روس میں ایک ایسا گاؤں موجود ہے جہاں درجہ حرارت منفی 71 ڈگری سینٹی گریڈ تک گر جاتا ہے اور جنوری کے مہینے میں یہاں کا اوسط درجہ حرارت منفی 50 ڈگری سینٹی گریڈ ہوتا ہے۔

اس گاؤں کا نام اویمیا کون ہے اور 1924 میں یہاں کا درجہ حرارت منفی 71.2 ڈگری سینٹی گریڈ تک گر گیا تھا۔

یہ دنیا کا سرد ترین آباد علاقہ ہے اور یہاں کے لوگ مستقل طور پر دنیا کے ٹھنڈے ترین علاقے میں رہنے کا اعزاز رکھتے ہیں۔

لیکن اس علاقے میں رہنا اتنا بھی آسان نہیں، مری اور کوئٹہ جیسے علاقوں میں منفی 6 یا 7 پر کاروبار زندگی ٹھہر جاتا ہے جبکہ کراچی میں تو 10 یا 12 ڈگری سینٹی گریڈ میں بھی لوگ گھروں سے نکلنا کم کر دیتے ہیں۔

تو پھر یہاں کے لوگ اتنے سرد خطہ زمین پر زندگی کیسے گزارتے ہیں؟ اسی سوال کا جواب حاصل کرنے کے لیے نیوزی لینڈ سے تعلق رکھنے والے فوٹو گرافر اموس چیپل نے اس گاؤں کا دورہ کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا اور انہوں نے اپنے سفر کے دوران چند انتہائی دلچسپ تصاویر بھی کھینچیں۔

 رپورٹ کے مطابق فوٹو گرافر اموس چیپل نے بتایا کہ ’جب میں پہلی بار منفی 47 ڈگری سینٹی گریڈ پر باہر نکلا تو میں ایک باریک پتلون پہنا ہوا تھا، مجھے ایسا لگا کہ ٹھنڈ میرے پاؤں سے چمٹ رہی ہے، کئی بار ہونٹوں کے درمیان موجود میرا لعاب بھی جم گیا جس سے میرے ہونٹ زخمی ہوئے‘۔

فوٹو گرافر نے کہا کہ سردی کی وجہ سے ان کے کیمرے کا فوکس اور زوم رنگ بھی جم جاتے تھے۔

زمین پر برف جمی ہونے کی وجہ سے گھر میں بیت الخلاء بنانا ممکن نہیں لہٰذا انہیں باہر ہی بنایا جاتا ہے۔

گاؤں کے مال مویشیوں کو جمع کرکے رات کے وقت ایک ہی جگہ پر بند کیا جاتا ہے تاکہ وہ بھی گرم رہ سکیں۔

مویشیوں کو چرنے کے لیے ہری گھاس کے بجائے برف میں ڈھکی جھاڑیوں پر ہی گزارہ کرنا پڑتا ہے۔

گاؤں میں یہ ایک ہی دکان ہے لیکن اس میں ضرورت کا ہر سامان مل جاتا ہے اور تمام گاؤں والے یہیں سے خریداری کرتے ہیں۔

گاڑیوں کو گرم گیراج کے اندر کھڑی کرنا لازمی ہے اگر کوئی گاڑی کھلے آسمان تلے ہی بند کر دی جائے تو اس کا دوبارہ اسٹارٹ ہونا مشکل ہو جاتا ہے تاہم اگر باہر گاڑی کھڑی کرنا ضروری ہو تو لوگ اس کا انجن بند کرنے سے گریز کرتے ہیں۔

اس گاؤں میں سردی اتنی زیادہ ہوتی ہے کہ ہر طرف صرف برف ہی برف نظر آتی ہے اور لوگ سبزہ دیکھنے کے لیے ترس جاتے ہیں۔

گاؤں والوں کو گرمی پہنچانے کے لیے ایک چھوٹا سا ہیٹنگ سسٹم بھی نصب کیا گیا ہے۔

شدید سردی کی وجہ سے مچھلیوں کے خراب ہونے کا کوئی خدشہ نہیں، لوگ بغیر ریفریجریٹر کے مہینوں انہیں اپنے پاس رکھ سکتے ہیں۔

 جہاں جنوری میں اوسط درجہ حرارت منفی 50 ڈگری سینٹی گریڈ ہوتا ہے اور آنکھوں کی پلکوں میں چار دیواری سے باہر نکلتے ہی برف جم جاتی ہے۔

روس کے علاقے سائبریا میں واقع اس گاﺅں میں اس سال اتنی سردی پڑی کہ وہاں نصب کیا جانے والا الیکٹرونک تھرما میٹر بھی منفی 62 ڈگری سینٹی گریڈ پر دم توڑ گیا۔

موسمیاتی مرکز نے اس جگہ کا درجہ حرارت منفی 59 سینٹی گریڈ ریکارڈ کیا مگر مقامی افراد کا کہنا ہے کہ یہ درجہ حرارت درحقیقت منفی 67 ڈگری تک گیا۔

اویمیا کون نامی اس گاﺅں میں سیاحوں کو درجہ حرارت سے آگاہ رکھنے کے لیے گزشتہ سال الیکٹرونک تھرما میٹر نصب کیا گیا تھا مگر گزشتہ دنوں وہ منفی 62 ڈگری پر پھٹ گیا۔

سائبرین ٹائمز کی ایک رپورٹ کے مطابق انتہائی شدید ٹھنڈ کے نتیجے میں تھرمامیٹر ٹوٹ گیا۔

اس گاﺅں میں 1920 کی دہائی میں پانچ سو افراد بسنے آئے تھے جو بنیادی طور پر چرواہے تھے اور انہوں نے اس گاﺅں کو نام دیا جس کا ترجمہ ہے ' وہ پانی جو کبھی جمتا نہیں'۔

ویسے تو دنیا کا سرد ترین مقام انٹار کٹیکا ہے مگر وہاں کوئی مستقل انسانی آبادی نہیں۔

یہی وجہ ہے کہ اس جگہ پر رہنے والوں کو دنیا کے سرد ترین مقام پر رہنے کا اعزاز دیا گیا ہے۔

یہاں کے باسی اپنی گاڑیوں کو سرد موسم میں ہر وقت آن رکھتے ہیں کیونکہ بند ہونے کی صورت میں وہ دوبارہ اسٹارٹ نہیں ہوسکے گی۔

یہاں کسی کی موت کی صورت میں تدفین کا عمل بہت مشکل ہوتا ہے کیونکہ برف اتنی سخت ہوتی ہے کہ گڑھا کھودنا آسان نہیں ہوتا۔

اس مقصد کے لیے پہلے تدفین کے مقام پر آگ جلائی جاتی ہے اور پھر پگھلی ہوئی برف کو ایک طرف کرکے چند انچ کا گڑھا کھودا جاتا ہے، یہی عمل کئی دن تک دہرا کر گڑھا اتنا گہرا ہوتا ہے کہ کسی کو دفن کیا جاسکے۔
