The Amazing Story of Baltoro Glacier

Baltoro Glacier in Shagar district of Gilgit-Baltistan is one of the longest glaciers in the world, with a length of 63 km. This glacier flows into the Karakoram mountain range, where great mountains such as Ke Tu are located. K-To is the second highest peak in the world, with an elevation of 8,611 meters (28,251 ft).

Surrounding Balturo Glacier are some of the world's highest mountains, three of which are over 8,000 meters high. On the left side of this glacier flows down the toe of the Goodwin Austin Glacier, and on the right it is joined by various glaciers, including Gasher Brim and Vigne Glacier.

Baltoro Glacier is a very beautiful and attractive place where tourists and climbers come from all over the world. The beautiful lakes and snow falls along the glacier add to the beauty of the place. The best-known location here is "Concordia", where the main stream of the glacier joins the Goodwin Austin Glacier.

The glacier can be reached via the famous sugar town of Skardu, from where tourists and adventurers start their expeditions.

This vast and natural place of Baltoro Glacier is an important heritage not only of Gilgit-Baltistan but of the entire world, where the silence, high mountains and snow trails provide a charming and mysterious atmosphere.

گلگت بلتستان کے ضلع شگر میں واقع بلتورو گلیشیئر دنیا کے طویل ترین گلیشیئرز میں سے ایک ہے، جس کی لمبائی 63 کلومیٹر ہے۔ یہ گلیشیئر قراقرم کے پہاڑی سلسلے میں بہتا ہے، جہاں کے ٹو جیسے عظیم پہاڑ بھی واقع ہیں۔ کے ٹو دنیا کی دوسری بلند ترین چوٹی ہے، جس کی بلندی 8,611 میٹر (28,251 فٹ) ہے۔

بلتورو گلیشیئر کے اردگرد کچھ دنیا کے بلند ترین پہاڑ ہیں، جن میں سے تین پہاڑ 8,000 میٹر سے زائد کی بلندی رکھتے ہیں۔ اس گلیشیئر کے بائیں جانب گڈون آسٹن گلیشیئر کے ٹو سے نیچے کی طرف بہتا ہے، اور دائیں جانب سے مختلف گلیشیئرز اس میں شامل ہوتے ہیں، جن میں گاشر برم اور وگنے گلیشیئر شامل ہیں۔

بلتورو گلیشیئر ایک نہایت خوبصورت اور دلکش مقام ہے جہاں دنیا بھر سے سیاح اور کوہ پیما آتے ہیں۔ گلیشیئر کے ساتھ موجود خوبصورت جھیلیں اور برفانی جھرنے یہاں کی خوبصورتی کو چار چاند لگا دیتے ہیں۔ یہاں کا سب سے معروف مقام "کونکورڈیا" ہے، جہاں گلیشیئر کے مرکزی دھارے میں گڈون آسٹن گلیشیئر شامل ہوتا ہے۔

یہ گلیشیئر شگر کے مشہور قصبے اسکردو کے ذریعے پہنچا جا سکتا ہے، جہاں سے سیاح اور مہم جو لوگ اپنی مہم کا آغاز کرتے ہیں۔
