 It is one of the few places in the world where nature and history have combined to create a strange but wonderful scene. The area is famous for its underground cities and rock wonders, which have been used by different civilizations for thousands of years. Soft rocks formed by volcanic ash gave rise to wonders such as the "fairy chimneys," which still amaze visitors today. These pillar-like rocks were formed by the erosion of thousands of years of weather and the ancient inhabitants carved them into houses, churches and shelters.

Cappadocia's underground city "Drankoi" has 11 floors and was capable of sheltering about 20,000 people. The city was built for defense against enemies and for survival during long sieges, including food reserves, waterways, and air routes. This architectural marvel is not only a masterpiece of human ingenuity but also a manifestation of the amazing engineering skills of ancient people.

Another important feature of the area are the rock-cut churches and monasteries, which are a reminder of the early Christian era. The churches of Goreme Museum in these rocks still exist today with beautiful fresco paintings, depicting biblical stories in graphic form.

The beauty of Cappadocia lies not only in its history, but also in its terrain. Even today, tourists come here to ride in hot air balloons for an aerial view of the area, where rock pillars, underground passageways, and ancient structures provide a unique experience.

کپاڈوشیا، ترکی کا قدیم علاقہ

 دنیا کے ان چند مقامات میں سے ہے جہاں قدرت اور تاریخ نے مل کر ایک عجیب و غریب لیکن حیرت انگیز منظر تخلیق کیا ہے۔ یہ علاقہ اپنے زیرِ زمین شہروں اور چٹانی عجائبات کے لیے مشہور ہے، جنہیں ہزاروں سالوں سے مختلف تہذیبوں نے استعمال کیا۔ آتش فشانی راکھ سے بنی نرم چٹانوں نے "پریوں کے چمن" جیسے عجائب کو جنم دیا، جو آج بھی دیکھنے والوں کو حیرت میں ڈال دیتے ہیں۔ یہ ستون نما چٹانیں ہزاروں سال کے موسموں کے کٹاؤ سے وجود میں آئیں اور قدیم باشندے انہیں تراش کر گھروں، کلیساؤں اور پناہ گاہوں میں تبدیل کرتے تھے۔

کپاڈوشیا کا زیرِ زمین شہر "درنکوئُ" 11 منزلوں پر مشتمل ہے اور تقریباً 20,000 افراد کو پناہ دینے کی صلاحیت رکھتا تھا۔ یہ شہر دشمنوں سے بچاؤ اور طویل محاصروں کے دوران زندگی گزارنے کے لیے بنایا گیا تھا، جس میں خوراک کے ذخائر، پانی کی گزرگاہیں، اور ہوا کے راستے شامل تھے۔ یہ تعمیراتی عجوبہ نہ صرف انسانی عقل کا ایک شاہکار ہے بلکہ قدیم لوگوں کی انجینئرنگ کی حیرت انگیز صلاحیتوں کا بھی مظہر ہے۔

اس علاقے کی ایک اور اہم خصوصیت یہاں کے چٹانوں میں تراشے گئے چرچ اور خانقاہیں ہیں، جو ابتدائی عیسائیوں کے دور کی یادگار ہیں۔ ان چٹانوں میں موجود گوریمے میوزیم کے چرچ آج بھی خوبصورت فریسکو پینٹنگز کے ساتھ موجود ہیں، جو بائبل کی کہانیوں کو تصویری شکل میں پیش کرتے ہیں۔

کپاڈوشیا کا حسن صرف اس کی تاریخ میں نہیں، بلکہ اس کی زمین کی ساخت میں بھی ہے۔ آج بھی سیاح یہاں آکر گرم ہوا کے غباروں میں سوار ہوکر فضا سے اس علاقے کا نظارہ کرتے ہیں، جہاں چٹانی ستون، زیرِ زمین راستے، اور قدیم تعمیرات ایک منفرد تجربہ فراہم کرتے ہیں۔
