The Sart Canal Bridge

Spanning 498 meters in length, 46 meters in width, and with a depth of 5.5 meters, the bridge allows vessels to traverse the Haine Valley and cross over multiple roads below without the need for locks or descending to ground level. Constructed at a cost of approximately €62 million, the bridge is a crucial piece of infrastructure within Belgium’s water transport network. It facilitates efficient and uninterrupted waterborne traffic between the Meuse and Scheldt rivers, significantly supporting both commercial shipping and tourism in the region
